Barnaul. ------------------------------------ * "Nashe radio was replaced by "Serebryany dozhd" in Barnaul On June 27, Barnaul stopped broadcasting radio " Serebryany dozhd" on frequency 106,4 FM. He was replaced by a "Nashe Radio", which, according to project director Alexander Michelson, it was more advantageous from a commercial point of view. Information about the fact that the radio station stopped broadcasting on Monday, posted on ofsayte " Serebryany dozhd". "We broadcast in Barnaul for over 10 years. Unfortunately, the frequency did not belong to us. The frequency was sold, the new owners decided to dispose of it in a different way. We are very sorry to part with you, and we hope that this is not a long time. We will make every effort to return to Barnaul " - Said in a statement. It seems that these words - a nod to address the audience, "Rain." As the news agency "Bankfaks" former director "Silver Rain" Alexander Michelson, who now occupies the same position on "Nashe Radio", the chance to return to the regional center in the former broadcaster purely hypothetical: "It's quite a complicated process, as new frequencies we do not show up, so theoretically "Serebryany dozhd"can go to Barnaul only if someone suddenly decides to change the broadcaster" - He said. According to Mr. Michelson, with the 27th "Our Radio" started to work in test mode, no ads. In the near future, expressed confidence the agency, the project will enter a full format. "It's rock 'n' roll radio, it is more interesting project for us, from a commercial point of view. Not so, of course, as "Russian radio" or "Europe plus", but nevertheless. There is no political component here there are no " - I informed Mr. Michelson. As it became known at the end of February this year, the publishing house "Altapress" Moscow sold to an unnamed investor legal entity to which the radio station "Silver rain in Barnaul" and the frequency 106,4 FM were reported. Then the lack of information given food for thought. Some media claimed that "Silver rain" will soon stop broadcasting altogether in Barnaul, which ultimately turned out to be true. The project is known for a liberal and somewhat oppositional approach to the coverage of the agenda. In "Silver rain" Barnaul sounded in the end of September 2006. The list of leading ether featured CEO PH "Altapress" Yuri Purgin, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Philology and Political Science Altai Sergei Manske, journalists, Oleg Kopylov, Mikhail Banushkin Sergey Zyuzin and others. bankfax.ru (OnAir.ru) * Radio Iskatel (FINDER) sounds in Barnaul Radio Iskatel has won the competition for the right to broadcast in Barnaul! Thanks to all of you. I am happy to allocate the long Zarya for 1125 kHz. What most interests me is the pair of tall masts at the site. One is at 37 58 13N, 58 43 20E. That seems to be aimed at azimuths of 68 / 248 degrees. The other site is 37 57 43N, 58 44 40E. This has azimuths at approx 122 / 302 degrees. I note that the ITU registration for 576 kHz is for a 257M mast. Even assessing which of the pairs is the tallest is a challenge. I await comments. 73 and 88 (Dan Goldfarb, June 19, mwmasts yg via DXLD) Northern Ashgabat seems only Radio Moscow USSR foreign language service. Very few data items seen in WRTH's of the 80ties. Looks like 267m, 1125 kHz Zarya item in Dari / Pashtu language to AFG appears VERY LATE as Zarya installation, first in 1986, but print-out in WRTH 1987-1998 Dari / Pashtu. (ask Olle Alm ... ) From WRTH 1999 Radio Orbita Moscow 1125 kHz, not AFG anymore. Before til 1985 only Dushanbe TJK 1143 kHz mentioned. The southeastern mast pair seemingly reserve antenna unit at 110degr for the Zarya Foreign Service during maintenance the western two pair maybe older R Moscow Russian ME sce 576 kHz east west ? at 68 / 248 degrees 73 wb (Wolfgang Büschel, ibid.) Members, I accept Wolfgang' s argument since Longwave frequencies are non-directional [??? gh]. I will split the 4 masts so that one pair is disused formerly on 576 kHz and the other as a reserve for the Zarya on 1125 kHz. Two questions still persist. One is the current location of the monopole for Longwave. The second is what is the current location for 576 kHz? Any ideas? 73 and 88 (Dan Goldfarb, ibid.) There are very long threads about this in mwmasts and swsites I have yet to unravel (gh, DXLD) ** UKRAINE. Had been on WBCQ 7490 kHz Tue & Thur until ran out of funds. And would reach Asia better anyway via Armenia. Febr. 20, 2016 was the fifth anniversary of ROTW [cut, and something was planned to happen?] I don't recall ever hearing such a program on WBCQ nor anything by that title on the schedule; but maybe that was five years ago? While this channel does not have a high budget, in order to attain the latest products to review, and in order to maintain the channel and keep the VORW shortwave broadcast on the air we need YOUR help. Your donations will... 1) Allow me to attain the latest and most popular fast food items in order to inform, educate and entertain the public in the soonest time possible. 2) Allow me to attain fan requested Food/Drink items in order to review them, and cater to viewer requests. 3) Maintain the basic infrastructure of the channel and its contents. 4) Work to return the VORW shortwave broadcast to the airwaves depending on viewer support/opinions, and allow for regular broadcasts to be produced and transmitted to listeners around the globe. 5) Let me expand to new projects (such as new review series' and possibly return the Idle Mind Lectures) and move the channel forward." The "Times" are minutes and seconds; so you're missing a colon that would be used in English time nomenclature which would make things strange looking to our eyes and the ITU codes for modulation are 'standard' but rather obscure to many DXers --- A1A is "normal" CW, A3E is "normal" AM voice and F3C is "normal" HF fax for example. I interpret what you sent earlier as follows: xx00:00-xx07:55 & xx30:00-xx37:55 N0N signals (N0N = ITU code for no modulation / open carrier) xx08:00-xx09:00 & xx38:00-xx39:00 transmitter is turned off xx09:00-xx10:00 & xx39:00-xx40:00 CW identification xx10:00-xx19:55 A1X "pips" of the seconds and minute (A1X = ITU code for AM, with one channel containing digital info, no other details) xx40:00-xx49:55 Minute and second pips plus DUT1 correction [in binary code - e.g. some seconds have doubled pips in a code to tell you how far fast or slow the UTC signal sent by RWM is from DUT1] xx20:00-xx29:55 & xx50:00-xx59:55 signaly DXXXW (If that is an ITU code, it is not one I'm familiar with. DXW would make some sense but it is a rather "unusual" mode -- A combination of AM and FM or PM, either simultaneously or in a pre-established sequence with no defined style of modulation and intended for reception either by human ears, a device or some combination of those things. The first is a page from the book Zeitzeichensender / Time Signal Stations by Gerd Klawitter, copyright 1988, which I purchased in Bern in 1989 on one of my sabbaticals. The second, more recent, is a page from the latest annual report of the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (Richard Langley, NB, ibid.) Station Location Latitude Longitude Frequency (kHz) Schedule (UTC) Form of the signal RWM (1) Moscow Russia 56 44'N 37 38'E 4996 9996 14996 The station operates simultaneously on the three frequencies. A1X type second pulses of 0.1 s duration are transmitted between minutes 10 and 20, 40 and 50. The pulses at the beginning of the minute are prolonged to 0.5 s. A1N type 0.1 s second pulses of 0.02 s duration are transmitted between minutes 20 and 30. The pulses at the beginning of the second are prolonged to 40 ms and of the minute to 0.5 ms. DUT1+dUT1: by double pulse. RWM is the radiostation emitting DUT1 information in accordance with the ITU-R code and also giving an additional information, dUT1, which specifies more precisely the difference UT1-UTC down to multiples of 0.02 s, the total value of the correction being DUT1+dUT1. Positive values of dUT1 are transmitted by the marking of p second markers within the range between the 21st and 24th second so that dUT1 = +p X 0.02 s. Negative values of dUT1 are transmitted by the marking of q second markers within the range between the 31st and 34th second, so that dUT1 = -q X 0.02 s (via Langley, ibid.) ** RUSSIA. 7295, Radio Sakha on June 28 noted with clearly a major change in transmitter assignments. Ever since I first heard R. Sakha on May 7, the 7345 signal had been many times stronger than // 7295; that had been the case until today; certainly now 7295 is the stronger transmitter (250 kW?) and // 7345 is the much weaker one (100 kW?), with 7345 mostly blocked by CNR1 after 1101. 1117-1300*: seemed in Russian; played some pop songs, but also very nice segment (1215-1300) of traditional Russian music and songs; 1200 & 1300 brief IS of Jew's harp and time pips. New sign off time for weekdays? My audio of a portion of today's programming at https://goo.gl/JUvBrH Would like to think my email to R. Sakha on May 16, which alerted them to the reactivation of CNR1 (China) on 7345, had something to do with their decision now to switch transmitter assignments (Ron Howard, Pacific Grove, CA, Etón E1, antenna: Par Electronics EF-SWL, dxldyg via WORLD OF RADIO 1832, DX LISTENING DIGEST) There are also widely divergent azimuths for the two frequencies which would also account for differences in strength. Originally according to Ivo: 7295 250 kW was 45 degrees, 7345 100 kW was 310 degrees. Perhaps they had really been reversed as now Ron has 7295 much stronger on the beam toward North America as one would expect rather than toward Europe. Is the reversal also evident there? (Glenn Hauser, WORLD OF RADIO 1832, DX LISTENING DIGEST) Caught Radio Sakha (presumed), Yakutia Republic, Russia at 1225 UT, 7295 kHz June 28 with Russian music and talk by female announcer between songs. 1359:55 UT one-off IS and 1 time pip before transmitter abrupt off at 1300 UT. Good // 7345 kHz just detectable under others. (Mick Delmage, Sherwood Park, AB, Perseus SDR, Wellbrook Loop Antenna, DX LISTENING DIGEST) Hi Glenn, June 29 heard R. Sakha with extremely weak signal on 7345 at 0938, along with V26 (Chinese numbers station) on 7345-USB. 7295, just like yesterday, abnormally strong signal from R. Sakha, with QRN (static); one of their favorite times to give a station ID is at about 50 minutes after the hour; today at 0949 with montage of different pop songs and clear "Radio Sakha" ID; some ads. Audio of ID and ads at https://goo.gl/CbcTGK 1000 no IS or time pips; went straight into the news(?). Rechecked 7295 at 1056, only to find them off the air; no signal at all and none during subsequent checking till 1112. Whereas 7345 seemed to still be on the air, but only open carrier heard till hit with CNR1 sign on just before 1101 (Ron Howard, CA, dxldyg via WORLD OF RADIO 1832, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** TURKMENISTAN. Re: Ashgabat transmitters --- I don't think that the more recent eastern site was in use on 1125 kHz only. For starters WRTH 1994 also shows 153 kHz, already closed at this time. I would also not jump to quick conclusions in regard to the four masts. Their use and configuration could have been changed over time, in particular of course when the southern side had to be superseded. What can be said for sure is that 279 kHz now goes out from this eastern site, and probably so already before 2011. The same should now go for 576 kHz, if still on air. It would give a clue when the date can be determined at which the current Bing and Yandex imagery of the southern site has been taken. It both shows one spray pond in operation, which would be a clear sign of either or both 279/576 kHz still being operated there if the imagery is post-2011, i.e. taken when the shortwave transmitters were no longer on air. The official height data for 576 kHz indicates a ShARRT-257 antenna*). Which does not help much; staring at the available satellite imagery to recognize the antenna types is hopeless. *) For reference: http://spb.rtrs.ru/files/27/34/27343eb57fe930a6c1decad4f2c12f86.png (Kai Ludwig, June 23, mwmasts yg via DXLD) WEB RADIO IN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE ============================= Russia.
