Peterson turned to the audience with the letter: Important Announcement from Adventist Word Radio The time has come for change. For the past quarter century and more, the Indianapolis address for Adventist Word Radio has received listener mail and reception reports from more than 100 countries all around the world. It has been our privilege to respond to all of the incoming mail, both postal and email, and to send out uncounted thousands of QSL cards. However, because of major health issues for us both (my wife as well as myself) and due to our advancing years (we are both nearing our mid-80s) it has become necessary for me to reduce my work load, just as soon as possible. It is with great reluctance that therefore I announce the fact that the processing of listener reception reports will be transferred from Indianapolis to a new address in Silver Spring Maryland. Staff at AWR headquarters will take over the processing of all reception reports addressed to Adventist World Radio. They are located in the building complex at the world headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination on the edge of suburban Washington DC. Effective at the end of the year, the Indianapolis post office box address will be closed, and emails addressed to the Indianapolis address will no longer be received. Likewise, postal mail addressed to the AWR street address in Indianapolis will no longer be processed locally. The new address for all reception reports addressed to Adventist World Radio worldwide is:- Box 10188, Silver Spring, MD 20914, USA. Every item of postal mail received at the Indianapolis box address up to December 31 will be processed here and QSL cards will be sent out in the usual way from this location. It will take some time, well into the New Year, to complete the processing of all pending mail, but each item will be processed and all QSL cards will be posted out. We might add that a new QSL card has just been received, and this card will be the last QSL card ever issued from this address. In addition, a new batch of many different types of AWR curios and souvenirs has been received, and these items will be sent out to listeners who enter our big annual DX contest. These souvenirs and curios will never become available again. Remember to enter our big annual DX contest which has been extended till the end of November. Many awards, and souvenirs, and new QSL cards are available, as well as a new award for listeners in New Zealand and Australia; a copy of the colorful Australian Radio History by Dr. Bruce Carty. In this year's contest, you are invited to design the details for your own contest entry. You are invited to tell what is your best QSL since our last contest, and to provide three AWR reception reports. Complete details are available from many DX club magazines, and from various websites. You may also contact Wavescan in Indianapolis for an email version of the contest details. In order to grant opportunity for listeners in Australia and New Zealand, the closing date for the 2015 DX contest has been extended by one month. All entries worldwide now need to be postmarked by the end of November, and received at the Indianapolis postal address by the end of December. Details regarding the results of the contest will be announced in Wavescan in mid January. It is intended that the AWR DX program, "Wavescan", will continue as usual in the same regular way. We are grateful for the DX reports from our DX reporters in India, Japan, Bangladesh, Philippines and Australia. We are grateful for the professional production of this weekly broadcast by Jeff White in the studios of WRMI in Okeechobee Florida, and for the reading of regular features by Ray Robinson in the studios of KVOH in Los Angeles, and for the widespread broadcast of Wavescan via the shortwave facilities of Adventist World Radio, WRMI, WWCR and KVOH. I wrote a second E-mail and asked whether or not I should expect to receive a full data verification letter. He replied that as from February 2015 they stopped sending verification letters by snail mail. I sent a third E- mail to Mr. Pleikys in which, after taking note of their new QSL policy, I commented that if such decision was due to the fact that verifying reports requires time and money, a good compromise could be a verification letter sent as a pdf file by E-mail. The story had a happy ending with Mr. Pleikys who finally sent me a full data QSL letter as a pdf file accompanied by some pictures of their medium wave transmitter and antennas (Antonello Napolitano, Taranto, Italy, DX FANZINE nr. 26 via DXLD) ** MOLDOVA. 85 years with Radio Moldova --- On October 30, the National Radio Moldova marks its 85th anniversary of foundation. http://www.trm.md/en/social/radio-moldova-85/ Posted by: (Leo Barmaleo, Nov 1, dxldyg via DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** RUSSIA [non]. 9610, Oct 29 at 1302, poor-fair signal with ``Radio Svoboda; Novosti``, i.e. R Liberty in Russian with news. Address for download http://www.radioheritage.net/PAL/PAL_10-2015.pdf (eds) Mass media Number 15: Heavy Duty broadcasting center in Kuibyshev. 1942. In 1939-1940, it was decided to build a city of Kursk superpower radio transmitting station 1,200 kilowatts. Technical performance was entrusted to A.L.Mintsa. A draft, selected area, to the factories of Moscow and Leningrad have placed orders for manufacturing equipment. It incorporated a five-storey building maintenance overhead. Construction began in 1941 ... The beginning of the war mixed plans. Construction transmitting center was urgently relocated under the Kuibyshev. Already in July 1941, it sets a new Square! oschadka under construction. The site was chosen for the following reasons. Firstly, the construction of large transmitting radio centers was carried out at a distance of not less than thirty kilometers away from the big cities - the area looking for in this radius. It said what took place in this area single-track railway line for the construction of hydropower. The fact is that before the war the Kuibyshev hydroelectric station has been designed near the mouth of the river Juice, where the Tsar's Barrow. For the purpose of the construction was laid down several villages, one of them was called "Management". There were camps for prisoners that would enable the construction workforce. After the war, the project on technical and economic reasons, revised and transferred Kuibyshev hydroelectric station upstream, closer to the old Stavropol (now Tolyatti). There was also energobaza - have worked Bezymyanskaya CHP which was practically next door. It was also an important factor. At the time, the efficiency of transmitting stations was low - at 1 megawatt emitted by the transmitter consumes 5.6 megawatts of electricity. Based on the requirements of wartime was! given the task to put radiotsen! mp under the ground, on top of leaving only the antenna structure. Power supply cables also conducted underground, go to the air line is only for railway station "Vodinskaya." Copper coaxial cables of large diameter, reaching to the antennas, also were buried in a special feeder tunnel. The essence of the adopted technical solutions can be summarized as follows. In the pre-war years in the construction of transmitting the centers engineers are faced with the problem of the lack of powerful radio tubes. They could build a transmitter 20-30 kilowatt, but more powerful transmitters could be done, there was no corresponding lamps. Out of the situation by including multiple parallel tubes, two, three, up to five. With further increase in the number of lamps appeared parasitic capacitance, inductance per unit length, which is not allowed rabotata transmitter. Such difficulties with lamps existed just before the war, when they built only long and medium-transmitters. Later, shortwave great power proved no longer needed, the KV - a "long-range" waves, using them only 10 watts can be contacted around the globe. There was a problem especially medium and long waves. At medium waves at night good passing, but in the afternoon and the short and medium wave due to the physical characteristics of poorly distributed. However, the goal was set so that the transmitters would cover a larger area, for this long and medium waves and needed a large capacity. No one in the world at that time did not have this problem. And Americans and Europeans have decided to build it in different ways lamps, but the power of the biggest transmitters would not exceed 100 kilowatts. And then A.L.Mints proposed the idea: not to collect lamps and transmitters. If more than one low-power transmitters will work on a common load (on a common antenna or addition in the air) in the sum can reach more air capacity. For the first time this principle has been built "Small Comintern" - six transmitters were formed in total intermediate circuit and output to the antenna high power, thus achieving the ethereal power of 200-300 kilowatts. We really appreciate that.Stay tuned on Listeners' Mailbag every Sunday because we will read emails and letters from our listeners. And visit our website www.voi.co.id and like our fanpage on facebook Voice of Indonesia and The Voice of Indonesia. Hopefully that will confirm. Although I know that confirmation from them may come a year later. Before writing them, and several times normal mail and text mail, but the answer was no. That's the unlucky story of this radio station. More to the same unconfirmed "unlucky" stations can include Albania (from which Dmitry Kutuzov constantly receives QSL) and Macedonia (and also wrote regular mail and e). BBC broadcasting center Oman also does not answer, although WRTH was infa that confirms. C Radio Africa from South Africa, too, had no luck. Listed station, which he wrote at least 4 times (including regular mail - 2 times). Oddly by Radio Serbia there is evidence, though only for 2011. The rest is not confirmed, even for a report in Serbian. That wanted to know who and what radio stations it is impossible dialogue? Which radio stations for your many attempts to ignore your reports? Just wondering. Yours faithfully, Varzim Victor, RF, Lenoble * From the "Voice of Indonesia" I have about 10 QSL. The first was back in the 90s, the other in recent times. It is best to send reports to the station via the form on their website. Each edition answers yourself. Several years ago, the reports sent through the form of reception in English, German, French and Spanish. Accordingly I received from each edition QSL. They came in one day, but in separate envelopes and all the cards are different. Reports through the form was in English. Radio QSL series releases, mainly from Indonesia attractions. Responsible for a long time from six months to a year. The German edition answered me and for reports sent by e-mail. Here's the address: voi.deutsche @ gmail.com. From Radio Tirana regularly receive reports QSL route for the German edition. They meet regularly. Cards issued in series, mainly in a series of four QSL. Address: aibro @ albaniaonline.net. I have problems with the received QSL from Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. I have already informed about it in the newsletter. Dmitry Kutuzov, Ryazan. * Here's an interesting selection-list of radio stations Timm Breyelya, Dx-ISTA from Southeast Asia unanswered reports since 2010. http://shortwavedxer.blogspot.ru/p/since-starting-southeast-asia-dxing.html Varzim Victor, Russia, Leningrad region., G.Kommunar * From the Voice of Indonesia for all time was one QSL, but no details on the card, came a year after I had already scored to send them (to info # voi.co.id). Programs and reports are in English. Tirana seems so Nitsche confirms only often lazy to listen to them. Not to say that they were coming from kusel shaft, but better than on KNLS. The problems mainly with low-power stations if the signal strength or total score = 2, it is often such a report is not valid. I am writing solely on e-mail with the expectation of an ordinary cardboard QSL. Where switched to e-QSL: there is no longer writing. Andrew, Tomsk. Russian SWL / DX site QSL album.
