On this day (July 9), exactly one year ago, two new FM frequencies appeared in Moscow.
"Radio Rossii" began broadcasting on 101.5 FM, and the neighboring "Nashe Radio" went on the air on 101.8 FM 
instead of 101.7 FM.
For "Radio Rossii", this was the third appearance in the Moscow FM range. In 2000-2001, it broadcast on 104.2 FM 
(during the competition due to the cessation of the activities of Radio "Nadezhda"), and in 2006-2008 - on 97.6 FM, 
where "Vesti FM" now operates.
All this time, the first state radio of the country broadcast in the capital on 66.44 VHF. This frequency was switched off 
on August 1, 2024.
As a result of the above events, several frequencies were moved in the Moscow region. Thus, the radio "PI FM" in

On July 12, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR issued a Decree "On the transformation of the 
Committee on Radio Broadcasting and Television under the CM of the USSR into the Union-Republican State 
Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR on Television and Radio Broadcasting". This Decree was 
supposed to testify to the increase in the state-political status of TV and radio broadcasting, while clearly pushing 
radio into the background.
Radio broadcasting in the USSR was carried out at several levels, which were based on the administrative-territorial 
structure of the country. These levels were: Central (All-Union Radio) radio broadcasting (carried out from Moscow in 
Russian and covered the entire country), radio broadcasting of the Union republics, radio broadcasting in the 
territories and regions, autonomous republics, districts, regions and cities.
In the corresponding Resolution of the Central Committee of the CPSU of 1970, the main tasks of the reorganized 
department were formulated as follows: "Propaganda of Marxism-Leninism, decrees and decisions of the CPSU and

On this day (July 12), exactly 23 years ago, radio "Kuranty" went on air in Moscow on 89.9 FM.
Its format changed often. At first it was an information and talk radio, then the focus shifted to music (Russian pop 
and rock). In early 2004, "Kuranty" played classic rock hits from the 60s - 80s. Thematic news, in particular, religious 
news, were its calling card. One of the station's directors was Vladimir Bazhin, former lead singer of the rock group 
"Tyazholy Den".
As the audience grew, "Kuranty" became attractive to players in the capital's radio market. At the end of 2004, the 
radio station changed owners, after which lounge music began to sound here. And in the summer of 2005, the 
nostalgic radio "Melody" appeared in place of "Kuranty". Subsequently, new formats were often launched on 89.9 FM. 
After Melodiya, Keks FM appeared in 2007, changing its repertoire twice. In 2015, new owners launched Strana FM, 
then Radio TV (Your Wave), and on April 22, 2024, Radio Record was broadcast here.

While on vacation, I stopped by the Kuban Radio Center. To say goodbye to the legendary enterprise. In the history of 
the Radio Center, there is... No. Not a comma or an ellipsis. A bold and final point.
For three years, the only transmitter never received orders for retransmission from Radio Sputnik. There was only a 
test, which remained a test.
The indifference of the radio company, which was created for broadcasting to foreign countries, as well as the 
inaction of officials led to the impasse in which the Kuban Radio Center found itself.
I will note on my own behalf that until recently foreign customers were interested in the retransmission capabilities of 
the Kuban enterprise. There was a real opportunity to extend the life of the Radio Center and receive income. But... It 
is easier for us to break everything and forget.

allegedly decided to launch a full-fledged online cinema. This is reported by the Moscow publication Kommersant.
This should happen on the RTRS.Plus website. Currently, on the RTRS.Plus platform, in addition to the mandatory 
television and radio channels in the Russian Federation (Channel One, Russia 1, Russia K, Russia 24, NTV; Vesti 
FM, Mayak, Radio Russia, etc.), 3 all-Russian non-terrestrial TV channels, 24 regional and 6 radio stations are 
available. Among the latter are Radio Si, NVK (Sverdlovsk Region), Ashkazar, Sputnik FM and Yuldash (Bashkiria),

Currently, RTRS is "consulting" with potential content providers to form a full-fledged VoD service (video on demand).

The "Elektronika VM-12" VCR was the first mass-produced Soviet VHS format device, produced since 1984. Its 
appearance was due to the rapid spread of video equipment in the West. The Japanese model "Panasonic NV-2000" 
of 1981 was taken as a basis. Historians of technology are still arguing whether an official license was purchased 
from Matsushita (owner of the Panasonic brand) or whether Soviet specialists independently reproduced the design.

Souvenir radio "Surprise".

Since 1967, it was produced by the Grozny Radio Engineering Plant. The Surprise radio receiver was released for 
the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. Structurally, it is made in the form of an elegant notebook. This was 
achieved through the use of a specially created miniature loudspeaker with a diffuser diameter of 40 mm and a height 
of 4 mm.

Battery power, from two dry batteries, with a voltage of 100 V anode and 2 V filament. Ranges of received waves: LW 
- 715 ... 2000 meters, MW 190 ... 580 meters.

As indicated in the article on the Azerbaijani website https://internationalradio.az/az, the 24-hour web radio channel 
"Voice of Azerbaijan", a project of Azerbaijan International Radio, currently broadcasts in 12 languages: in 8 
languages for abroad (Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, English, French, Persian, Arabic, Armenian) and in 4 languages 
of national minorities (Georgian, Lezgin, Talysh, Kurdish). At the same time, there is no broadcast schedule, only the 
number of broadcasts per day in each language is indicated, and the text of the article on the website is often 
corrected. Sometimes the broadcaster deviates from the schedule compiled by the author (time - UTC):

Six programs are broadcast in Russian per day. The main 30-minute evening program, repeated since November 
2023 in the morning, is announced as "News" on weekdays, "Overview of the Main Events of the Week" on Saturday, 
and "Cultural News" on Sunday. Two unique 15-minute programs at 20.00 and 06.05 (only the Saturday and Sunday 
editions from 20.00 are repeated) are mostly untitled, but are sometimes announced as "Analytical program", 
probably introduced since November 2024. At 14.05 (repeated at 02.05) on weekdays, a 10-minute program "World 
of News of the Commonwealth" is broadcast, on Saturday - a 15-minute summary program for the week "This is Us", 
both are prepared by "Radio Mir" of the television and radio company of the CIS countries of the same name. On 
Sunday, instead of "Radio Mir", a 15-minute program is broadcast sometimes announced as "Analytical program".
Programs in English and French were resumed in November 2024 (they were in German before 2007).
In English, news is broadcast for 3-8 minutes and until the end of the program, English-language music.
In French, there are also news 3-8 minutes and until the end of the program, Azerbaijani music.
Due to the replacement of the player on the site, listening to the radio channel is now possible only in real time, but it 
has become available on an external VLC player (stream https://str2.yodacdn.net/radio_int/index.m3u8)
In all foreign broadcasting languages except Russian, the radio channel's news is posted on YouTube

Note. Contrary to the information on its website, the radio channel "Voice of Azerbaijan" is now called "International 
Radio of Azerbaijan". In addition to the Internet, it broadcasts via the Azerspace1 satellite with a wide coverage area 
and in Nagorno-Karabakh on FM (Khankendi, Shusha). Broadcasting in Russian began on November 26, 1992.
International television broadcasting of Azerbaijan is carried out 24 hours a day by two satellite channels - AnewZ in

The Turkish government has announced (https://www.tvbeurope.com/media-delivery/turkiye-aims-to-modernise-
broadcast-infrastructure-with-30-new-towers) plans to build 30 new broadcast towers in major cities across the 
country. The project aims to modernise the nation's broadcasting infrastructure.
The structures, inspired by Istanbul's Çamlıca Tower, will be built in Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Konya and other major 
cities. These structures will replace outdated, disparate antenna complexes, centralising analogue and digital 
broadcasting.
Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said the new towers will increase energy efficiency 
by more than 10 times. The project is also intended to eliminate "visual pollution" from city landscapes and provide 
safer emissions for residents.
The towers will feature "modern, architecturally integrated silhouettes" similar to Çamlıca Tower, which is capable of 
simultaneously broadcasting 100 high-quality TV and radio channels without mutual interference.
