Respectfully, Anatoly Semenov, Russia * Magazine "Broadcasting. Television and Radio Broadcasting". ------------------------------------------ Political Radio through the Prism of History. Part 3. From the section: Humanitarian Technologies Published: Magazine "Broadcasting. Television and Radio Broadcasting" #4, 2008, pp.84-85 Alexander Sharikov. Professor of the Higher School of Economics. Cardinal changes in radio broadcasting occurred after the August putsch of 1991, which was followed by the collapse of the USSR, and with it the disappearance of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting and official censorship. The sphere of radio broadcasting is entering a stage of rapid quantitative growth, undergoing significant structural and functional changes, which is associated with the socio-economic reforms taking place in the country. The legalization of various forms of ownership and the provision of broad freedom of speech have led to three distinct trends in the activities of electronic mass media: the reorganization of state radio broadcasting, the establishment of commercial broadcasting, and the emergence of the first autonomous forms of non-commercial, non-state broadcasting. These three interrelated processes are occurring at a rapid pace, which allows us to speak of a "radio boom" in Russia. Its consequence was a distinct process of address-functional differentiation of radio channels. The official communities of "Papino Radio" in VK and Telegram were renamed to the pages of the radio channel "Kometa" on 98.6 MHz in Donetsk - vk.com/public126273901 From the description of the group: Radio station of the city of Donetsk, part of the structure of the radio broadcasting directorate "GUP DPR RMH". Music format Active Rock (AR): classic and modern rock hits, urban romance songs. FM: Donetsk - 98.6 MHz, Novoazovsk - 92.6 MHz. (https://vk.com/teleradioldnr) - A little bit about radio broadcasting in Donetsk. In Donetsk, 106.8 MHz and 107.6 MHz were switched off. The fate of "Papino Radio" has apparently already been finally decided, since all social networks have been renamed to another radio station. The only question remains, what will happen (and will happen at all) on 107.6 MHz. A new competition, re-registration of the license for a federal radio station (for example, "Pride")? This year, "Papino Radio" will turn 10 years since the start of broadcasting (December 1), and test broadcasting began in the summer of 2015. Since December 2024, broadcasting on 107.6 MHz has been carried out at reduced power. Meanwhile, "Kometa" has changed its format again. Instead of popular hits of the 90s, 00s, rock has again sounded on 98.6 MHz. In the first half of 2025, Kometa has already managed to be "Soldier's Radio" (for two weeks), remove and return foreign radio to the airwaves, change and adjust the format and be similar to "Dacha" with "Pioneer", then to "Iskatel" with "Nashe Radio". It is likely that the return of rock music to 98.6 MHz may be connected with the decision to close Novorossiya-Rox (back in May, if you believe the petition created: https://www.change.org/p/треем- не-зацепить-продао-новороссия-рокс. However, while the Novorossiya-Rox group is being updated and there is no final decision on the fate of 106.8 MHz. In the event of a final decision to close, we expect either a re-registration to another radio station, or a complete cancellation of the license and the future competition. In Novoazovsk, most likely, there will be no broadcasting on 89.5 MHz and 98.8 MHz. What can be expected on the air in Donetsk? The appearance of the Cossack radio Pika on 104.7 MHz, the return of Mayak to a new frequency - 100.4 MHz, the move of Radio KP to 98.2 MHz and Marusya at 107.2 MHz. A playlist of Russian songs was on air, without announcing the radio station. (https://vk.com/tvfm23) - As you know, not all broadcasters report switching off their programs or launching new frequencies. Recently, a number of questions have accumulated about radio broadcasting in the region: 1) At the moment, many questions arise about the actual operation of radio stations. For example, in Anapa, some frequencies are silent for a long time, occasionally going on air. In some settlements (Kabardinka, Leningradskaya village), a number of programs have been deprived of licenses - are they broadcasting at the moment? 2) Some observers report that Pervoe Radio (92.9 FM) is already broadcasting in Belorechensk, although there are no official reports about the launch (and Belorechensk radio station has never been heard on the air with this frequency). In Slavyansk-na-Kubani, Katyusha FM should be on 89.5 now, or the frequency should be silent. Since some frequencies are difficult to receive in Krasnodar, if possible, we ask you to check your local stations - suddenly something has already started working. 3) Some plans for the start of broadcasting have been stalled for a long time. For example, Comedy Radio tests in Timashevsk and Korenovsk were completed last year (i.e., the launch has not yet taken place), in Labinsk the same radio station has a six-month plan. Has Marusya FM been launched in Gelendzhik on 106.2? Is Love Radio on in Apsheronsk and Timashevsk? Radio Zvezda (90.1 MHz) should have been broadcasting in the village of Brinkovskaya in the Primorsko-Akhtarsky District for a long time. Are these and other radio stations broadcasting? 4) As is known, in Sochi some radio stations (Dorognoe Radio, Evropa Plus, Novoe Radio and Retro FM) have installed additional transmitters for full coverage of Adler and FT Sirius. They are tuned to the same frequencies as from central Sochi (for example, Dorognoe Radio on 98.9 MHz should already be operating simultaneously from two towers using the synchronous network principle). Have they been launched? At the moment, it is reliably known that Radio Shokolad also broadcasts to Adler on 106.9 FM. You can check for operation by comparing the signal level with either a regular receiver or a special amateur radio (DX) radio receiver (by recording a higher field strength in decibels within the Adler and Sirius area compared to other Sochi radio stations). Later, amateur enthusiasts took up the matter, and radio appeared even in rural areas of the region. The basis for choosing the date was the release of the Directive of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) on June 29, 1941, which indicated the need to create partisan detachments. Efremov is of particular value. ----------------------------------------------------------- We will tell you below how the album came to us, and now a few words about the Leningrad "military television". Shortly before the Great Patriotic War, radar stations called "Redut" entered service with the Red Army, including in the Leningrad Air Defense unit. The detection range of "Redut" exceeded 100 km, and experienced operators could even determine what kind of target was moving by the nature of the movement of the mark from the target on the indicator screen. When the locators had to be moved further from the front line, a problem arose - too much time was spent transmitting data to the airfield. Having detected a target on the indicator, the operator encrypted the coordinates and transmitted them to the air defense headquarters. This phenomenon, which caused confusion among consumers, was due to a complex of technical, economic and organizational factors characteristic of the planned economy of the USSR. Starting from June 23, DJ vITa will start working on the morning air of Energy FM radio, whose image, unique voice and delivery are completely generated by artificial intelligence. "If someone thinks that now it is easy to replace living people with neural networks, then this is not entirely true. At least 4 people worked on the creation of vITa. Now that the processes are debugged, there will be two of them. One of the authors is engaged in writing the texts, the second creates the voice and brings the product to broadcast quality," - said the radio station. The project is experimental, it will develop, but the main thing for the creators of the neuroDJ is the approval of the listening audience. If in the USSR stereophonic sound was considered the standard of quality, then for modern representatives of generation Z (zoomers) it has lost its significance. This difference in perception is due not so much to technical progress as to profound transformations in cultural attitudes, social habits and economic realities. Sooner or later, your neighbors or, even worse, intruders can take advantage of this. Using a vulnerability in the firmware, hackers will be able to change the password, log into the router and do so-called DNS substitution to intercept traffic and redirect it to a compromised DNS server with malicious sites. If you are lucky, you will be able to recognize the "uninvited guests" by a drop in Internet speed or periodic "failure" of home devices. However, you may not always notice this. Therefore, we recommend periodically checking your router on one of the special services that will promptly determine the vulnerability of your home network. The second piece of advice is to use a more complex password and change it at least once every few months. How to change the password on a Wi-Fi router, we will tell below. It is impossible to estimate from a materialistic perspective the impact KTWR has had on lives in China, North Korea, India, Myanmar, Vietnam, and other countries in the region. As valuable as the Guam station has been to TWR's ministry, we have faced many challenges there in recent years, from the high cost of living on the island to the overwhelming workload of an overburdened staff to the constant wear and tear of equipment. Another pressing issue concerns our aging transmitters, which are becoming increasingly susceptible to unexpected, catastrophic failure. We do not believe that raising funds to replace this expensive equipment is a wise stewardship of resources needed in other areas of ministry.
