Happy Radio Day! ------------------------------- It was on this day in 1895 that at a meeting of the Russian Physico-Chemical Society, Russian physicist Alexander Stepanovich Popov made a report and demonstration of the world's first radio receiver that he had created. This was the first radio communication session. In 1945, the Soviet Union celebrated the anniversary of the invention of radio - 50 years. The government of the country decided to consider this date as the annual Radio Day, which was later approved by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 1, 1980 No. 3018-X "On holidays and memorial days." Today is Radio Day - a holiday for workers in all communications sectors. Television, radio broadcasting and postal workers consider this day their professional holiday. Congratulations to all those who promptly inform us about the most important events that occur daily in our country! Let's remember 1988. ---------------------------- In the USSR, "Perestroika" is a common name used to denote fundamental changes in the economic and political structure of the USSR, initiated by the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Mikhail Sergeevich Gorbachev in 1985 (de facto 1987) -1991. It was this year - November 30, 1988 - that the USSR officially stopped jamming Western radio stations. On October 16, I wrote a letter to the Foreign Broadcasting Department of the Moscow Radio with proposals to expand the subject of the DX program with the addition of information about radio broadcasting around the world and assistance in compiling it. It was a time when things were changing and I tried to do something in the DX hobby. Reply to my letter - "Moscow radio. Foreign broadcasting. USSR, 113326, Moscow 9.11.1988 Registration number 10265. Dear Anatoly Sergeevich! Thank you for your attention to the work of Moscow Radio and we are responding to your letter dated October 16, 1988. When preparing programs for foreign countries, the editors of foreign broadcasting use only absolutely accurate official information obtained from various sources, including from competent specialists working in the technical services of the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, who have the appropriate higher education and proper language training, since all our programs are created taking into account interests and specifics of a specific radio audience. That is why programs for various English-speaking countries are prepared by various English-language editions of Moscow Radio. Regarding your proposed contacts with the "Soviet DX Club" and other informal associations of our country, taking into account the above, we cannot accept the "services" or use the information provided by these informal organizations. Thus, Moscow Radio has no need for mutual exchange of information. The "DX program" of Moscow Radio for North American countries has long been created on the "question-answer" principle, but all answers are prepared by qualified specialists in the relevant fields of knowledge, and, if necessary, scientists from the USSR Academy of Sciences and various research institutes are involved (in certain cases). We considered it necessary to inform you and your colleagues in the hobby that the DX program of Moscow Radio is prepared on a "voluntary basis", this work is not paid, therefore we do not offer Gosteleradio employees an additional burden in the form of information exchange with "informal DX clubs" We have neither official nor moral rights. In addition, we repeat, we will still not be able to use information from such sources. Moscow radio is successfully received in all countries of the world, it receives several thousand letters a day from foreign listeners, including from long-distance reception enthusiasts, so "advertise the DX program of Radio Moscow through the DX programs of other stations and through DX publications," As you suggest, it's probably not necessary. We have no information regarding the interview of Comrade S. Fedosov for the editorial office of broadcasting to Latin America, because Broadcasts for the Republic of Cuba are handled by a completely different editorial team, and we advise you to contact this department directly. As an exception, we are sending you an information booklet from the North American Service of Moscow Radio and consider it necessary to warn you that Gosteleradio does not have "extra" copies of booklets, QSL cards and other DX attributes due to printing and some other difficulties (in particular, the problem of paper is very acute for us), therefore, Moscow Radio is not able to send these materials to Soviet radio listeners. I take this opportunity to thank you once again for your attention and for your letter, and we hope that our DX programs will continue to arouse interest among Soviet radio amateurs. We wish you all the best, 73! On behalf of the editors M. Pavlov, consultant" - The calendar says 1988, very soon a full-fledged DX program with news about radio broadcasting around the world will appear on the waves of the Russian service of Moscow Radio. The program will be hosted by Pavel Mikhailov (RV3ACC). - And to conclude the topic - for the first time I compiled several programs about radio based on questions from letters from radio listeners from Italy in the early 70s of the last century. It was on Radio Moscow in the Italian broadcasting service. But that is another story. ============================== FROM KAMCHATKA TO THE BALTIKA ============================== Belgorodskaya oblast. ------------------------------- License. This is how the history of cellular communications in Primorye and eastern Russia began, and in particular, the first company in the region to provide these services - AKOS. The operator has been operating under a different brand for more than ten years. And in general, it was completely bought out by Rostelecom a long time ago. But, of course, signs of the times when Russian regions had only their own telecom operators remain. Therefore, as always, here is a selection of historical typescripts and artifacts. But, over time, it became clear that the review of this product did not amount to a full-fledged video material. And not at all because he is bad. It's just that Tricolor turned out to be a good marketing move - in order to attract attention, it was decided to call the satellite subscriber receiver "prettier" - a media hub. They associate the trend with the growing quality of Russian music, noting that if earlier, after the hit of Dua Lipa or Miley Cyrus, "it would have been strange to play some Russian hookah rap," now it is almost on the same level. In addition, bard song is returning to the mainstream. However, if society clearly disagrees with the artist's position, he is unlikely to be broadcast, media managers admit. However, the companies do not plan to abandon foreign music, believing that the listener should retain the right to access global trends. In addition, the popularity of mountain and Caucasian motifs, as well as k-pop, is growing in popularity, although the latter trend is still in demand only among a narrow group of teenagers and mainly in the digital environment. General Director of GPM Radio Vadim Tereshchuk, Managing Director of RMG Dmitry Mednikov and General Director of EMG Roman Emelyanov told RBC which companies are increasing budgets for radio advertising, whether there will be a reduction in foreign music on air and why the audience is not always ready to accept new stars. To be honest, this vehicle looks more like a platform than a truck, and the technical characteristics - 200 kilometers on a single charge - hint at the use of the Evocargo N1 in warehouses rather than for long-distance cargo transportation. Although the developers are doing their best to position it as a truck. As usual, there are few details. We assume that the use of the platform involves the banal movement of goods from one warehouse to another. The results of such use are usually not reported by Evocargo or its partners. YouTube continues to eliminate those it doesn't like. The video hosting site was particularly not pleased with the Union State TV channel "BelRos". His page, which had 90 thousand followers and 40 million video views, was deleted for the third time in two years. It was deleted, not blocked. The explanation is standard, that is, it doesn't mean anything: YouTube rules were allegedly violated. Which ones are not explained. It is suggested to appeal in case of disagreement, but this is usually a pointless waste of time and effort. The first channel was deleted back in April 2022, according to the head of BelRos Nikolai Efimovich, "due to a pronounced political agenda." In his opinion, the removal of the second channel, which happened in November of the same year, was due to active coverage of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. STORY. ======================== - Radio receiver "Meridian-230" ---------------------------------------------- Since 1982 it has been produced by the Kyiv plant "Radiopribor". The receiver is developed on the basis of the Meridian-210 model. The main difference is electronic tuning in all bands and electronic touch switching of fixed settings in the VHF range. The use of unified functional blocks made it possible to reduce the size and weight of the receiver compared to its predecessor. Reception of LW and MW radio stations is carried out using a magnetic antenna, and SW and VHF using a telescopic antenna.
