In continuation of my previous article about Radio Sweden ("Rus-DX Plus" # 1053 / March 3 / 2024), I want to share 
memories of other radio stations heard and remembered in some way 50 or more years ago.
Some of my brightest memories are associated with the radio station HCJB - "Voice of the Andes" from Ecuador. In 
1971, when I first heard it, the station celebrated two anniversaries - the 40th anniversary of the start of broadcasting 
of the radio station and the 30th anniversary of the start of broadcasting in Russian. The station recalled how they 
received the first letter from a listener in the Soviet Union in 1956 and it was a holiday for the entire Russian 
department. In addition to religious ones, there were also secular programs dedicated to the history, tales and 
legends of the indigenous peoples of Ecuador - the Indians. These broadcasts were accompanied by wonderful 
traditional Creole music, which I have since loved for the rest of my life. The author of the programs was Elena 
Dmitrievna Zernova (at HCJB since 1954). It was possible to contact the station only at the end of 1979. Along with 
the QSL, I received a desk calendar and postcards with good wishes to me and my family from Elodia and Alexey 
Kuvshinikov (both were engaged in postal communication with listeners) and from the heads of the Russian 
department - Rufi Petrovna Shalenko (Deineka) and Yakov Ivanovich Shalenko. Ruf Petrovna is the daughter of the 
founder of Russian broadcasting on HCJB in March 1941, Pyotr Naumovich Deinek (1898 - 1987).

The Radio Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communications Production Association (PO) under the Ministry of 
Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan is preparing to expand the radio broadcasting network, Trend 
reported on Monday with reference to the PA. As noted, for this purpose, all radio and television broadcasting stations 
in the country will be equipped with the necessary information technology equipment.
Note that the software was created on the basis of the Radio and Television Center and the Radio Center. The 
software provides terrestrial broadcasting of radio and television programs, radio communications (operation of a 
network of radio relay lines), satellite broadcasting of radio and television programs, etc.
