The decision to turn off the transmitter was made by the broadcasters. (https://spb.rtrs.ru/tv/analog/radiostantsiya-grad-petrov-prekratila-efirnuyu-translyatsiyu-v-tikhvine/) * Radio Volkhov-VFM leaves the Leningrad region. On April 1, 2022, VFM stopped broadcasting in the cities of the Leningrad Region, except for Volkhov. According to the official information of the Volkhov City TV and Radio Company LLC, this happened due to a lack of funding. Now the frequencies of the radio station in the region are working, there is silence on the air. It is reported that another radio will be broadcast on VFM frequencies. As long as we keep an eye on the situation. Source: https://vk.com/tvradio47 (https://vk.com/vcfm2014) * GPM will launch NRJ in Vyborg on 105.5 MHz. The city of Vyborg has been added to the license of radio station NRJ 30820. This decision was made by Gazprom Media holding. Now questions are being resolved about the date of the launch of the broadcast and with a partner for advertising. Previously, IZ.RU / Radio Baltika was broadcasting on 105.5 MHz in Vyborg. Then they talked about the launch, but later - only about the plan of another GPM project on this frequency - Like FM with a license from Baltika RV LLC, like in St. Petersburg. However, now the situation has changed. Vesti FM and Mayak transmitters with a power of 1 kW each cover 260,000 residents of the Nazranovsky, Sunzhensky and Malgobeksky districts with a signal. Radio "Vesti FM" is available in Nazran at a frequency of 100.3 MHz, "Mayak" - at 99.9 MHz. The launch of radio stations was the result of a program to modernize the VGTRK radio network in Ingushetia. (https://moscow.rtrs.ru/press/news/rtrs-nachal-fm-translyatsiyu-radiostantsiy-mayak-i-vesti-fm-v-nazrani/) Chuvash Republic. --------------------------------- On April 1, the branch of the RTRS "RTPC of the Chuvash Republic" began FM broadcasting of "Radio Russii" from the radio and television station (RTS) Cheboksary at a frequency of 88.1 MHz. The program grid includes regional information blocks of the Chuvashia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. The launch of Radio Russia on the air of Cheboksary expanded the possibilities of media consumption for the residents of the republic. The FM transmitter on the RTS of Cheboksary covers 770 thousand people with a radio signal, that is, more than 60% of the inhabitants of Chuvashia. Now residents of the largest cities of Chuvashia - Cheboksary and Novocheboksarsk - and nearby settlements receive a confident signal from the radio station. Previously, residents of Cheboksary could receive Radio Russii from the station in Tsivilsk, but due to its remoteness and difficult terrain, reception was not stable everywhere. The launch of Radio Russii in Cheboksary became possible thanks to the modernization of the on-air broadcasting system at the TV tower in Cheboksary. In 2021, specialists from the RTRS branch in Chuvashia dismantled outdated and installed modern antenna-feeder devices. The launch of the FM broadcast of Radio Russii in Chuvashia is part of the joint program of VGTRK and RTRS to develop the media holding's radio network. Sacks On March 2, the BBC World Service announced that it was restarting four-hour daily shortwave transmissions in English to Ukraine. The decision to resume Ukrainian shortwave broadcasts came after Russian forces began to deliberately target Ukrainian communications equipment, including the Kyiv television tower. Why do these four-hour daily transmissions matter so much when the world supposedly has moved away from radio and adopted social media and the Internet? Isn't shortwave an obsolete, century-old technology that harkens back to memories of World War II and the Cold War?... War and Radio Radio becomes an immensely popular medium during any conflict. It can be accessed by a large number of people without the knowledge of others. It helps in entertaining the people and keeps them informed in crisis... It was on this day in 1925 that the IARU was formed in Paris. American Radio Relay League (today, ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio http://www.arrl.org/) co-founder Hiram Percy Maxim was its first president. "On World Amateur Radio Day, all radio amateurs are invited to take to the airwaves to enjoy our global friendship with other amateurs, and to promote our skills and capabilities to the public," said Bob Inderbitzen, NQ1R, ARRL Director of Public Relations and Innovation. "Use the backdrop of World Amateur Radio Day to describe and demonstrate ham radio to family, friends, and co-workers." While WARD falls on a Monday this year, Inderbitzen encourages amateurs and radio clubs to extend the celebration to include the weekend, or even all week. "Some radio clubs will even seek a proclamation from their town or state government, designating the period to recognize the contributions of radio amateurs to our communities, and the overall importance of our Amateur Radio Service," he said. ARRL reports that there are more than 775,000 hams in the US. ARRL also supports a nationwide network of 2,400 affiliated radio clubs. "Radio clubs provide opportunities for newcomers to discover radio and to become ham radio operators," said Inderbitzen. "Clubs develop the personal radio communications capability of their members, operating together or from their home stations, in portable settings, and from nearly anywhere." Inderbitzen also highlighted that among the primary purposes of the Amateur Radio Service is to enhance international goodwill. "Radio amateurs use radio signals, which reach beyond borders, to bring people together culturally while providing essential communication in service to their communities."
