On the first day of spring, Avtoradio sounded in Kurgan, where more than 312 thousand people live today (data for 2020). In the city, which is often called the gateway to Siberia, tuned in to 107.1 FM, you can now hear your favorite hits and fresh music news, as well as interviews with interesting people in the morning drive show "Let's Go" and live concerts of superstars in the evening show "Murzilki Live". In addition, the residents of the city now have the opportunity to take part in large-scale special projects of Avtoradio and compete for substantial prizes. For example, this season in the framework of the game "Many cars" on "Autoradio" raffle five million rubles and three cars! Also, on a frequency of 90.2 FM, Avtoradio began broadcasting in another settlement of the Republic of Bashkortostan - the city of Davlekanovo, and on 99.3 FM, it was launched in Suksun, Perm Territory. Avtoradio is a successful federal brand with a developed broadcasting network. In Russia alone, more than 8 thousand cities and towns fall into the zone of reliable reception of the radio station, and residents of foreign countries also listen to it. Avtoradio is actively introducing digital technologies, developing the www.avtoradio.ru website, a mobile application, and official social media accounts. It is even the leader among Russian radio stations in terms of YouTube subscribers: the audience of the main Avtoradio channel (youtube.com/user/AvtoradioMoscow) is more than 2.59 million subscribers, and the total number of video views exceeds 1.25 billion. In addition to it, the team is developing four more thematic channels - "Autoradio OnAir", "Disco 80s", "Autoradio.AVTO" and "Murzilki LIVE". The radio station holds several world records, and the success of Avtoradio has been marked by many professional awards (there are 45 gold microphones from Radioomania alone), including the prestigious international awards NAB International Broadcasting Excellence Award, NYF's International Radio Program Awards. The radio center was built in 1936 to serve the rapidly developing polar aviation. With the outbreak of the war, its power was increased. "The radio center provided flights of Soviet aircraft behind enemy lines, as well as to partisan airfields," Aleksey Smirnov, a 10th grade student of school No. 2005, told SZ. The student placed the information he found on the interactive map "My district during the war" moiraion.moscow. During the war years, houses were built on the territory of the radio field for radio operators, radio mechanics, guards and officers. After the war, two antenna masts with a height of 110 meters appeared on the radio field, and the radio complex itself began to be used to operate radio stations broadcasting over long distances. Now this hub serves the Sheremetyevo airport. In a short time, through a powerful radio center located in Kamchatka Yelizovo, it is planned to distribute the broadcast of 'Purga Radio' to the entire territory of the Chukotka Autonomous Region. {heard March 11 by Walt Salmaniw-Masset-BC-CAN Pacific coast remotedly} From an interview with Nikolai Garanin, Head of the Television and Radio Workshop of the city of Anadyr of the RTRS Branch "Delnoeostochny Regional Center" For us, the best option was to use the capabilities of the Kamchatka radio center, equipped with a 100-kilowatt radio transmitter, thanks to which residents of remote areas of Chukotka can receive the signal, having the most simple radio receivers that receive short waves. Thus, it will be possible to promptly deliver news and other programs to the workers of the reindeer-breeding brigades, fishermen, hunters, geologists and prospectors. We have already checked the range of radio signal coverage from Kamchatka, which is about 90% of the territory of Chukotka, which is a lot. Specialists set up a diagrammatic field, and its focus on Chukotka had to be regulated for almost four months in order to cover the territory as much as possible. All technical moments are coordinated with the center in Moscow. Information about the frequencies at which it is supposed to broadcast, we will give separately." In February, RTRS donated radio exhibits to the Moscow Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora, which were actively used by signalmen during the Second World War. These are radios, radio stations, field telephones, etc. Each of these exhibits has a story. But it is revealed only in museums, thanks to the professionalism of scientists who skillfully create the atmosphere of the era. Genuine objects will help illustrate one of the brightest and heroic pages of the war - the work of signalmen. And we are very pleased that this exposition will be held at the Victory Museum, the main custodian of the memory of the Great Patriotic War, - said RTRS General Director Andrei Romanchenko. Among the transferred equipment are devices manufactured at radio factories in Kharkov, Tula, Aleksandrov and supplied to the USSR under Lend-Lease. Field telephone EE-8A was produced in the USA in 1943. Among the exhibits is a Philips trophy apparatus. The lacquered massive tube radio 845 A-14 was produced in Germany in 1941 and was not intended for military use. Most likely, it was originally acquired by a wealthy burgher. The RTRS employees collected the items of the museum collection in different cities and proudly presented them to the Victory Museum. The artifacts are in good condition and of historical value. The programmes in English and Romanian were current, while the German programmes mainly consisted of repeats and at times a new segment. In comparison, the German programmes sounded much more patriotic in tone than the English and Romanian programmes. Back then I also monitored the Russian programmes and wondered why any Russian speaker should find it interesting to listen to it. Even today, there is no news in the German programme. German DXer complain that their e-mails remain unanswered, although at times they are acknow- ledged on the air (or rather online). I can confirm this from recent experience although I am not into complaining. e-QSLs are promised but never arrive. There are birthday greetings, but some of the persons greeted are already dead. The hills of Mu Kang Chai province are the highest in the country. There are terraces with rice plantations at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. The steepness of the hillsides makes it difficult to grow rice in the usual way. The inhabitants of the province solved this problem by creating stepped terraces along the hillsides. Water is retained by the edges of the terraces and nourishes the plants. They also put a small souvenir in the envelope - a lacquered wooden keychain in the shape of a drop with the image of a Vietnamese girl + a letter - a copy for general mailing (dated February 9, 2021), but the keychain is mentioned in the letter, which means that this souvenir was sent to everyone. We are really surprised to learn how many people can listen to us all over Europe and from Siberia to the East Coast oft he United States. Inspite of the World Wide Web people still enjoy listening on shortwave, and like us they are fascinated by the myth of wave propagation. That explains the name of our station "Mystery21". We have been on air for many years, but we are newcomers on shortwave. We chose the 60m band because oft the variety of propagation conditions: short distance in Europe during the day and DX after sunset. Our equipment is completely homemade and we are testing with 1,2 KW PEP from 8 relatively cheap mosfets and a simple inverted V dipole antenna installed at 25 meters above the soil. We use sound processing with an optimod pc card and with stereo tool. Our bandwidth is a little bit higher than with most commercial stations. We apologize for not having any printed QSL cards at the moment. Considering the high number of reception reports we are thinking about E-QSL. You will find further information and pictures on our facebook site. There you will also find our webstream during the transmissions. If you like, you can join our facebook group. Mystery21 - The Spirit of Music Stay tuned and enjoy listening on shortwave, especially on the 60m band. (4875khz +/- QRM) We are looking forward to hearing from you again. 73....
