said that they did not even look at it as propaganda work. Many of our listeners also drew something useful for
themselves. After all, there are many lonely, unhappy people in the world. It was nice to receive letters and calls from
listeners who wrote: "Night, stars over Madrid, and I listen to the voice from Moscow." People even caught the
announcer's breath! It seemed to us that we are uniting.
- What were the difficulties of working with a foreign audience for a very closed USSR? - There were no difficulties,
there were features. Every edition in our country was like a broadcasting country. For example, the World Service in
English - they became British in spirit. We Latinos were crazy, hot, temperamental. Moreover, a lot of Spaniards worked
in our editorial office. And broadcasting in Portuguese - it was generally complete mess. They arranged real carnivals in
the corridors!
- And yet, from the inside it was not so simple. Allowed only an official interpretation of the facts, was the installation "to
give everything according to the Truth." How was the matter with freedom of speech really? - It is quite possible that at
first everything really was "according to the Truth". I came to work in 1965, when these terrible years were over. But until
1953 this, of course, was tough. Censorship, what to deny. There was even a woman sitting there, watching a program, if
she saw some wrong word, splashing a seal.
"But at least some experiments were allowed?" - With the advent of enlightened people, programs began to be built
differently, the tone completely changed. Vladimir Pozner, for example, hosted Moscow Talk, such three-minute
programs in which he talked about everything he saw. And all in such a very bold form. I once asked him the question of
how these three-minute periods look against the backdrop of dry comments. "The tiger is on a white sheet," he replied.
And really! He had such a confidential tone, he enveloped him so with his charm. All Americans believed him!
- How was the agenda selected? - The flyers of the chief editors gathered at the chairman of the broadcasting. Then the
editors organized internal volatiles, decided what comments and topics would be. Priority was given to relations with the
countries to which we broadcast. Plus there was a centralized department. For example, we proposed our own regional
theme, and the topic of a single comment went down to all the editions. There was the Main editors of propaganda, there
was the Main editors of the information. The program was sent to the Central Committee. In my memory, they rarely

- 90 years is a whole life. And even if there is no Moscow Radio or the Voice of Russia, the very phenomenon of
broadcasting remains. - Now we have Sputnik, he broadcasts, broadcasts. Its employees often talk about new forms of
programs, topics that they touch on. And thanks to the Internet, a lot is being done. This is a new era, not ours. But
Russia continues to speak with the world, and this is the main thing.
- In your opinion, is it possible to influence a modern audience through radio? - It all depends on the form, on the content,
on the ideas that are invested. I am convinced that people at all times need to believe in something. Due to this,
everything works.

Residents of Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson and Transcarpathian regions "made a choice in favor of modern
communication channels," the company said. The disconnection of the wired radio is reported by the Ukrtelecom press
service. It is noted that now the company serves 330 thousand home radio points, and annually there are significantly
fewer subscribers. According to Ukrtelecom, in Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson and Transcarpathian regions less than 1% of
the population uses wired radio. "Due to the small number of subscribers, the loss of service, outdated equipment and the
impossibility of repairing it, a decision was made to stop providing services in these areas from February 1, 2020," the
company said. Also, from January 1, 2020, the service for connecting new radio points is terminated. Existing service
subscribers will continue to use wired radio on existing terms. It was previously reported that Ukrtelecom turned off wired
radio in the Dnieper and Odessa.

These reports are being written as if "Radio Recep Erdogan" is the actual
name of this broadcast, but is that really the case ?
Recep Tayyib Erdogan is the name of the Turkish president whose speeches
are being carried on it.
Presumably its being transmitted by TRT in Emirler Turkey with the aim of
interfering with Denge Welat Radio to Kurdistan.

Hi Zach, Denge Welat - the Kurdistan radio voice - is JAMMED heavily
by the Turkey Army or their security forces now ?
I was not at home on Saturday Oct 19 though, - but Pres. Erdogan Turkey
seems JAMM now the Kurdistan station program on 11530 kHz there,
on that daylight fq channel since 2 decades or so;
... someone asked me to monitor it tomorrow Sunday 20th.
Since this morning Denge Welat on 11530 kHz is being interfered by a
Turkish station. As a result the frequency of Denge Welat has been
changed since 1100 UT to 11540 kHz.
In case you have the chance to identify where the Turkish station
on 11530 kHz is coming from, that would be most appreciated.
This week in A-19 season check Denge Welat on monitor
7350 / or 9525 kHz at 0300-0500 UT and
11530 / or 9525 kHz at 1330-2100 UT.

The Emirler transmission on 11530 kHz is a loop of 30 minutes and a few
seconds, with no obvious station / program name being noted so far.
A detailed monitoring report is here:
So in all likely hood no other distribution platforms are in use for this,
ahem, audio product. Still it could be worth to check if this program
audio is on Tuerksat, which could be the case if TRT has terminated the
terrestrial circuits to Emirler and this loop is not played out locally.
The evening transmission of Denge Welat via Issoudun has been moved to
11540 kHz, too. So what remains to be determined is what they do with
the 31 metres morning slot.
Earlier in the evening, before everything faded out, clearly two
different signals, with carriers hetting against each other, could be
noted on 11540 kHz while no trace of any carrier was on 11530 kHz anymore.
So indeed Emirler followed Denge Welat, thus their intention is not to
take over the established frequency and its Kurdish audience but merely
to jam Denge Welat.
Meanwhile also the routing for this "special broadcast" has been found:
The ID of this channel indicates that it was the feed for the Arabic
broadcasts on 630 and 1062 kHz, which apparently have been discontinued
recently. So TRT is really deeply involved in this jamming operation.

Hi Wolfie,
as I wrote many times, the programmes of Denge Welat are Mon-Fri at
0303-0645 UT on 9525 / 11530 kHz are in Turkish language, it is also in
Turkish later after 1900 UT. Other bc times in different languages.
It is strange that on MW {TRT} 1062 kHz earlier with prgrs in Kurdish,
now the songs and talks are in Turkish instead.

Has in the meantime someone done an analysis of the, um, program audio
and, if yes, where can it be found? Have the inserts been positively
identified as excerpts from Erdogan speeches? (Some of the sources are
used rather freely; particularly remarkable is a take where after a
mention of the YPG a machine gun sound is inserted.)
If no such analysis took place and all the background remains a week after
its publication still behind the language barrier: This program audio is
on Tuerksat, on the 11.096 GHz mux now apparently used as routing to
Emirler.
It is on the channel with the ID "DIS YAY ORTA DALGA ARAPCA", which seems
to mean "feed mediumwave Arabic". These should have been the evening
broadcasts on 630 and 1062 kHz, discontinued not too long ago, and now
they reuse the satellite channel for this, um, special purpose.
It is a loop, running about one hour, and the majority of the music that
plays therein reminds German ears to
(what this documentary shows is video from 6 Oct 1989 in Berlin).
And the whole set-up shows that not just the secret service has required
the aux transmitter at Emirler: TRT is fully involved in this jamming
operation, up to the point of a producer putting together something, um,
suitable.
Any opinions on the agility with which TRT now follows any frequency
switch? They are so quick that one has to wonder if they already know the
upcoming next frequency. Such a suspicion is further raised by the
circumstance that engineers at Grigoriopol have just been told from Moscow
to stop communicating with outsiders.
And any comments on the opinion that they know the price to be paid for
jamming satellite uplinks (IRIB can tell, they lost the access to Eutelsat
capacity for almost a decade) and refrain only for this reason from this
practice, while also knowing that they have nothing whatsoever to fear for
jamming shortwave broadcasts?

From November 1, it is presumably on air at the same time that TWR will be
broadcast with the 'Path to Truth' program, and I listened to the address
in Bishkek on Oct 28 at MW 864 kHz, and probably from Oct 28 it will be at
16.40 UT at the same time. 17.10 UT from Monday to Friday.
The program of the Armenian radio in foreign languages is heard from
16.00-17.45 UT, except for the MW frequency of 1395 kHz, and at
intermodulation frequencies of 1359, 1377, 1422 and 1431 kHz, and from

Recep Tayyib Erdogan is the name of the Turkish president whose speeches

Denge Welat and Turkish TRT Emirler jamming move to 15175 kHz
Kurdish station Denge Welat heard this morning from 1015 UT tune-in on new
15175 kHz (thank to tip from Ivo Ivanov WOR iog). Its only just audible
here underneath Turkish jamming.
Turkey is transmitting military music and speeches, and at 1034 UT the
Turkish National Anthem with Denge Welat just audible underneath.
For the past 10 days or so Turkey has been chasing Denge Welat around the
25 m band (11510-11550 kHz) transmitting this same programme over the top
of Denge Welat in an attempt to jam it, but the use of a higher frequency
may make it more difficult for Turkey to jam it within the coverage area.
The Turkish transmission is presumably from TRTs' Emirler site.

The Pacific Ocean is a broadcasting radio station broadcasting from
Vladivostok from 1963 to 2001y and from 2005 to 2008y at a frequency
of 810 kHz in the medium wavelength range and at different times at
frequencies of 12065 kHz, 17590 kHz, 9765 kHz, 5960 kHz, 7330 kHz
in the range short waves, at a frequency of 66 MHz in the VHF band

Story. Radio station "Tikhiy Okean" ("Pacific Ocean").
The broadcasting territory is the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the eastern
sector of the Arctic is the main zone where the Far Eastern vessels
traveled. The radio station was the only means of communication with the
"Big Land".
Transmission came out 3 times a day. The call sign of the radio station
was the melody of the song "Along the valleys and on the hills." The news
of the region and the country, as well as greetings of relatives, were
broadcast on the air. Wives, mothers, children told the sailors about
their life, about the life of the family and conveyed musical greetings.
At the end of the transfer to the music of Paul Maria Melancolie Melody

In the last days of October, verification cards from seven countries were in the inbox. Among them: Mongolia, Japan,
Thailand, Poland, the Republic of China, Taiwan and the Czech Republic.
- Voice of Mongolia (Japanese Service) sent me a postcard with the image of the Genghis Khan complex. The report
was confirmed for September 28, 2019 (frequency 12.085 kHz, reception in the city of Ulan-Ude);
- Radio Nikkei 2 (broadcast in Japanese) sent its traditional card for listening to their music program on October 4, 2019
(frequency 6.115 kHz, in Ulan-Ude);
- NHK World Radio Japan (in Russian) sent a new QSL card "Dancing the Lion" for listening to the frequency of 1386
kHz on September 7 in Moscow;
- Radio Thailand (English Service) sent QSL with the image of, it seems, the pagoda for my report of October 10
(frequency 15.590 kHz, listening in Ulan-Ude);
- Radio Poland (broadcasting service in Russian) with a card dedicated to the city of Toruń, confirmed the reports for
August 27 and September 9 (reception at a frequency of 1386 kHz in Moscow);
- Radio Taiwan International (domestic broadcasting in Chinese) confirmed reception at a medium wave frequency of
1557 kHz (listened to them in Ulan-Ude) on October 6, 2019;
- Radio Prague International (Russian service) confirmed listening through the application on September 5, 2019 with a
postcard from the series "Modern Czech Architecture".
